Following the strong demand generated by its 40th-anniversary cruise, OFM has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with MSC Cruises and South African music icon Kurt Darren.
The extension follows record interest in the 2026 voyage and reinforces OFM’s ability to mobilise its affluent, lifestyle-driven audience through high-value experiential platforms. The “Kaptein en Vriende” Cruise has evolved into a powerful example of how the station connects brands with an audience that is not only highly engaged, but also willing and able to act, whether through travel, entertainment, or premium experiences.
By extending the partnership to 2028, OFM and MSC Cruises will continue to deliver immersive experiences tailored to Central South Africa’s listeners, reflecting their passion for travel, music, and shared lifestyle experiences.
The 2027 cruise is scheduled to set sail from 19 to 22 February, travelling from Durban to the Portuguese Island. Hosted by Kurt Darren, the experience will once again feature top South African artists, with the full line-up to be announced soon.
“Platforms like ‘Kaptein en Vriende’ demonstrate the strength of OFM’s audience connection. Our listeners are not just tuning in – they are not just tuning in – they are actively participating in the experiences we create, turning moments into shared memories that reflect the spirit of the OFM audience” says Anchen Lintvelt, OFM Sales and Marketing Manager.
Nick Efstathiou, CEO of Central Media Group, adds: “This partnership highlights how OFM can translate audience engagement into tangible action. It’s not just about reach – it’s about celebrating an audience that has the appetite and means to embrace premium lifestyle experiences.”
Reservations for the February 2027 cruise are now open.
