The Ryan O’Connor Breakfast Show teamed up with Reach for A Dream to make a difference … to make dreams for dreamers happen. Reach for a Dream dreamers dreams are huge, lavish dreams, in fact they are often pretty simple but make the world of difference to the dreamers. Smile 90.4FM approached our wider Smile 90.4FM family to enable the fulfilment of dreams. The dreams fulfilled so far are:
Ezekiel (13) – Living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Ezekiel dreams of being a soccer player and owning his own cellphone, to be able to watch soccer and play games. His dream was fulfilled with a smartphone and accessory hamper (power bank, wireless earbuds and speaker) sponsored by Cellucity, along with a R1 000 Spur voucher for a family meal. (He has never been to Spur)
Dane (8) – Living with Adrenoleukodystrophy, Dane dreamed of a special family getaway where he could play putt putt and enjoy a jacuzzi. His dream was brought to life with a one-night stay for his family at The President Hotel, including meals, a jacuzzi experience and spa treatments for his parents, along with a putt-putt outing and a Blue Train ride facilitated by Smile FM.
Kaylin (18) – Living with Bone Cancer, Kaylin is unable to attend school due to her illness. Kaylin dreams of continuing her education and building a future in medicine, where she can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Her dream was fulfilled with an Apple laptop, which allows her to continue her studies and attend online classes, generously sponsored by Digicape.
Leqisha (17) – Living with leukaemia, Leqisha loves music, dancing and spending time with family. She is passionate about helping others, especially homeless children. Her dream was fulfilled with a V&A Waterfront experience for her and her family, including aquarium tickets, a boat trip, movie tickets, meal and Sorbet vouchers, as well as a speaker to enable her to enjoy her dance and make Tik Tok videos, sponsored by the V&A Waterfront.
