Moneyweb’s Desktop Growth Signals A Prime Advertiser Opportunity

Moneyweb’s latest audience figures tell a compelling story: South Africa’s professional and financially engaged readers are increasingly turning to desktop devices to research, compare and make informed business and investment decisions.

Over the 12 months from July 2025 to June 2026, Moneyweb generated more than 79.3 million pageviews, an increase of approximately 9.9% year on year.

The strongest growth came from desktop readership.

Desktop pageviews increased by 25%, rising from approximately 33 million in the previous 12-month period to 41.2 million. Desktop’s share of Moneyweb’s total pageviews consequently increased from 45.7% to 53%, overtaking mobile as the platform responsible for the largest share of content consumption.

That matters for advertisers.

Although mobile continues to deliver a broad audience reach, desktop readers engage with Moneyweb’s content at a significantly deeper level.

During the period:

  • Desktop readers averaged 15.4 pageviews per user, compared with 2.9 on mobile
  • Desktop users averaged 3.55 sessions, compared with 2.27 sessions per mobile user
  • Desktop sessions generated an average of 4.34 pageviews, compared with 1.29 pageviews per mobile session

This means a typical desktop user viewed more than five times as many pages as a mobile user, while each desktop session generated more than three times as many pageviews as a mobile session.

For advertisers, this represents sustained attention from an audience accessing Moneyweb in a focused and often professional environment. These include investors, executives, financial professionals, entrepreneurs, and business decision-makers who actively consume trusted market, investment, and economic news.

Moneyweb recorded approximately 41.2 million desktop pageviews across 9.5 million desktop sessions during the 12 months, demonstrating the scale and depth of this engagement.

The growth was not limited to a single month. Desktop pageviews exceeded the corresponding prior-year figure in 11 of the 12 months, with particularly strong year-on-year performances in:

  • July 2025: +32%
  • October 2025: +33%
  • December 2025: +31%
  • February 2026: +26%
  • March 2026: +40%
  • June 2026: +18%

March 2026 delivered the highest desktop readership of the period, with almost 4 million desktop pageviews, reinforcing Moneyweb’s position as a trusted destination when markets move and important financial decisions are being made.

The message for advertisers is clear: Moneyweb combines the reach of mobile with the deeper engagement of desktop.

Our growing desktop audience allows advertisers to reach decision-makers while they are actively researching, evaluating options and making purchasing and investment decisions. It is sustained, premium attention within a trusted financial and business environment.
